OUR STORY
Reid's Southern Kitchen & Smokehouse was born from a love of authentic Southern cooking and a dream to bring Southeast Georgia flavors to Illinois. Owner Amanda spent five months renovating our Peru location—including a complete bar makeover—before opening our doors in December 2024.
Named after her son Reid (our official junior taste-tester), this restaurant is a labor of love. Every dish reflects the recipes Amanda grew up with, made the way her family has made them for generations. We're proud to be woman-owned, community-focused, and committed to serving the best smoked meats and comfort food in the Starved Rock area.
Oh, and keep an eye out for Sir Winston Franklin, our pug mascot—he's the face of our sauces and rubs!
